Thew news comes in a report from Digitimes who have released that a number of companies may include their wireless headphones with next years smartphones.
The report claims "smartphone vendors including Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi are looking to bundle their new models with TWS earbuds next year", citing unnamed industry sources. AirPods are not the most affordable. A recent rumour is suggesting that Apple may be planning on bundling its 2020 iPhones with a pair of its wireless AirPods.
While this rumor seems questionable for now, it is certainly possible that Apple simply feels it is time to include something more modern than EarPods with its iPhones.

As MacRumors notes, however, DigiTimes has a hit-and-miss track record, and at this point the rumours only say that Apple is "considering" the move, which doesn't really say much.
Currently, Apple is bundling the wired EarPods with its devices which retails for around $29. Still, it's hard to imagine how Apple could do this without compromising the quality of its AirPods technology and impacting the perception of, and demand for, its actual standalone AirPods and AirPods Pro, both of which now feel like much more premium products.
We are expecting to three versions of the iPhone 12 next year, all three will come with OLED displays and they will get a number of design changes. Apple released their iPhone 11 in September so we are not expecting to see next years handsets until September 2020.
