Wenhan Huang tells The Patriot Ledger he was doing yard work when the slide took out several branches of his Japanese maple.
"If it had hit us, we would have been dead", Milton, Massachusetts, resident Stephanie Leguia told The Boston Herald. No one has been reported as injured by the incident and the plane landed safely. "I hate to think of the alternative".
The airline is investigating how and why the slide fell off but it has also re-ignited a political debate about the number of flights over Milton and nearby communities. She and her neighbor called the police after the incident, who confirmed, upon inspection, that the object was an emergency evacuation slide.
"It's kind of insane", Wenhan Huang of Milton, Massachusetts, told CNN affiliate WCVB. 'Who could know there's something coming from the air and (it) drops into my yard, right?' "It's pretty heavy. You can't even carry it". Maybe two or three people can lift it'.More news: Taylor Swift Talks Acting Career, Song Ownership Amid Scooter Braun Feud

However, on further inspection, they found a Boeing label and made a decision to call the police.
Both Delta and the FAA are now investigating the incident.
"Delta is investigating an inflatable over-wing slide that was retrieved following an aircraft's landing into Boston's Logan Airport".
