Capcom has been rumored to be working on a Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake for a while now, and it seems the game is indeed happening, thanks to a new GamStat listing for the Japanese version of the game, titled Biohazard RE:3.
Aside from the English icons, Resident Evil 3 will also be sold as Biohazard 3 in Japan, and will also have a Z Version that contains more gore (but not as much as the Western release).

A couple of days ago, Capcom teased Resident Evil 3 Remake via a franchise Steam sale picture. It looks like we have a final name for the game too, Resident Evil Resistance. Since The Game Awards are pretty soon, there's a strong possibility we'll get a reveal there.
It's likely that the Resident Evil 3 remake would be able to reuse at least some assets from that title, as well as mechanics and engine work, making a release at some point in 2020 possible. Earlier this month, there was a rumour suggesting that Resident Evil 3 Remake was indeed under development.
