Twitter goes wild for South African KFC marriage proposal


The couple's special day looks set to be a memorable one as South African celebrities, corporates and citizens have pledged their services to the couple's impending #KFCWedding nuptials, News24 previously reported. On the list? Tents, sheep and formal shoes.

Some have offered to supply free services for the big day from air time to cocktails:The well wishes have been streaming in... They wrote: "We just could not resist all this Lovin". "The soft drinks for the wedding are on us!" tweeted Coca Cola South Africa. "I took the video and sent it to a group that I've got on my WhatsApp to say "check this out" and I put it on Facebook and put it on Instagram and then boom!"

The couple has received assurance from Standard Bank, South Africa for monetary support, A jewellery company, Emerald, has donated a pair of wedding rings to them.

Once the video made waves online on Thursday, KFC tweeted it, calling for the public to help find the couple and by Friday morning, online sleuths tracked them down. "The whole country's got a bloody wedding!"

Hector told South African media he would "like to have a small event to celebrate his wife but the budget is tight". Audi South Africa has offered to drive the couple anywhere they need to go, while Castle Lite has offered to pay for the couples honeymoon.

But reacting to the post, the journalist posted, "SA men are so broke they even propose at KFC.They have absolutely no class, I mean who proposes at KFC".

KFC could not immediately be reached for comment.
