In the comments, he did say that he's not talking about the Galaxy S11, and in a separate tweet, he simply wrote "1+". Way before the launch, rumours about the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have started surfacing on the internet. The report further suggests that the device would feature a full-screen design, like its predecessor, albeit with a punch-hole front camera and not the pop-up selfie camera solution as seen on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7T Pro just a few weeks ago, so in that sense the OnePlus 8 series renders seem to have appeared way too early.

In 2020 we will probably have many smartphones with 120Hz display, especially the flagships. This year, we got the Asus ROG Phone 2 with a 120Hz OLED screen, the first on any phone.

The 90Hz displays have already been applauded for their awesome user experience, and now the 120Hz refresh rate will undoubtedly will make the experience more rich and super smooth. A 120Hz display refresh rate may give consumers extra incentive to get the OnePlus 8 Pro over the regular model. OnePlus, earlier this year launched the OnePlus 7 Pro with a 90Hz display, and it now looks like the renowned "flagship killer" but won't be stopping at that. However, a 120Hz display on the OnePlus 8 Pro is certainly with in the realm of possibility. Even more, OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro devices will receive Open Beta 5 updates along with the system update. The phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 and have a fourth ToF sensor that'll sit to the left of the main triple-camera module. The chipmaker already unveiled the flagship chip, and OnePlus 8 series is going to be one of the first smartphones to come with the new Qualcomm flagship processor. OnePlus is also said to be working on adding support for wireless charging, which would be a first for OnePlus smartphones.
