The event will mark Miranda and Streep's first Met Gala.
Although we can all agree the Met is about one thing and one thing only, the red carpet looks, there is also an exhibition which takes place too.
Every year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala provides celebrities with an opportunity to adhere (or not adhere) to the prescribed dress theme, and provides civilians with the chance to ogle at the possibilities of fashion attached to a limitless budget.
"Fashion is indelibly connected to time", Bolton added of the decided-upon theme.More news: West Ham United interested in Birger Meling

The theme was inspired by Virginia Woolf's 1920s novels "Orlando" and "Mrs Dalloway", the Met said. "As such, the show will present a nuanced continuum of fashion over the Museum's 150-year history".
"This exhibition will consider the ephemeral nature of fashion, employing flashbacks and fast-forwards to reveal how it can be both linear and cyclical", said Max Hollein , the director of the Met in New York City. "It not only reflects and represents the spirit of the times, but it also changes and develops with the times, serving as an especially sensitive and accurate timepiece". The exhibit traces fashion from 1870 to the present and will feature approximately 160 examples of women's fashion.
The Tony, Olivier, and Pulitzer victor will co-chair the 2020 Met Gala alongside Louis Vutton Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière, Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour, and Oscar winners (and fellow movie musical alums) Emma Stone and Meryl Streep. One fan reminded the Hollywood star that the event is the "ONE time to flex on the fashion industry PLEASE don't mess this up", to which Lin replied, "Honestly, your collective concern over my sartorial choices has made my day, off to re-evaluate my whole life byyyyyeeeee".
