"Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of NY private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl", reads the synopsis. The reboot, which was announced in July, comes from the original creative team of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who will both serve as executive producers on the new series, with Josh Safran, a writer and producer on the original show, attached as showrunner.

The new series will follow a group of Manhattan-based private-schoolers, much like the original, only this time they'll be dealing with the growing influence of social media.

Hello Upper Eastsiders, the real "Gossip Girl" is back!

Gossip Girl was a hit series that ran from 2007 to 2012 and is comparable with shows like Melrose Place and The OC.

"Bell Media has been an important partner with its channels and platforms bringing HBO originals to viewers in Canada for many years", said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment in a statement.

The Gossip Girl reboot will be written by original show creator Joshua Safran, producer of Quantico.

The familiar voice of Bell gave all the latest goss on Serena van der Woodsen and her pals for six seasons straight.

As of the time of writing, it's unknown whether any other famous faces from the original - including Blake Lively, Taylor Momsen, Leighton Meester, and Ed Westwick - will make any cameo appearances.

Safran executive produces with Fake Empire's Schwartz and Savage, and Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo of Alloy Entertainment.

HBO said in a statement: "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of NY private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl".

No different unique strong customers are signed on, however the possibility is open up.

Kristen Bell will be the first ever host of the SAG Awards.
