Via John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, FOX Sports has issued a statement confirming that Carter no longer is employed by the company.
After three years at Fox Sports, Cris Carter has been pink-slipped.
The New York Post's Andrew Marchand wrote: "While there have been reports that Carter was miffed about not being a part of Fox's "Thursday Night Football" studio show, that is not the reason he was let go".
Cris Carter hasn't been on the air at FS1 since last week, with reports surfacing that he was suspended from First Things First hosting duties pending a further investigation.

FOX also has been flying Tony Gonzalez from L.A.to NY for appearances on the Thursday pregame show, even though Carter could have done it with no travel expenses.
It led to an alleged blow-up between Carter and his bosses at FS1, according to McCarthy.
Carter, Wright, and Wolfe shoot their weekday morning present on the web site of Fox's Thursday Evening time Soccer current in midtown Manhattan.
Front Office Sports reported earlier this week Carter had become unhappy with his lack of a role in the network's National Football League coverage and it lead to a "blowup" with his bosses. He claims that while Carter is indeed upset about not being included on TNF, Marchand cites sources who say the "matter at hand is much worse".
It's unclear what this implies for FOX's 1st Components First relocating ahead.
