It was a star-studded night with several A-list Bollywood celebrities arriving in New Delhi to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi which was organised to discuss and popularise Mahatma Gandhi's ideology through entertainment and creative mediums.

He said Mahatma Gandhi is synonymous with simplicity and his thoughts reverberate far and wide. "The power of creativity is vast, and it is essential to harness this spirit of creativity for our nation", said prime minister.

"During his address at the event for the film fraternity, PM Modi congratulated people from the "world of films and television" for their work in popularising Gandhi" s ideals.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan, in his speech, pointed out with the knowledge that Gandhiji's ideas need to be presented before India and the world. The film industry can get self-obsessed and it is important we create work that sends out messages.

In his speech, Prime Minister Modi also appealed to the august gathering to pay a visit to the museum made in Dandi, the place where Gandhi completed the salt march. Kangana Ranaut thanked PM Modi for recognizing the power of the Indian film industry. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday discussed the initiative of Bollywood actors and filmmakers including Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.Also, he said that India will host an global entertainment summit.

To celebrate 150 years of Gandhi, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani brought eight leading actors together for the special tribute, which was launched by the PM at his official residence.

On Saturday, Rajkumar Hirani shared a short video, featuring a host of Bollywood names such as Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, SalmanKhan, Kangana Ranaut, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and ShahRukhKhan.

The event had been reportedly organised by the film fraternity, to begin with their campaign to revive Mahatam Gandhi's philosophy.

Ekta Kapoor also thanked PM Modi for extending his support to members of the Indian film and entertainment industry to be the soft ambassadors of India. Veteran actor and director Aamir Khan hailed Modi as a warm and inspiring person.
