Dead, 3 Injured In Brooklyn Shooting; UPDATE: Two Firearms Found on Scene

Four people have been killed and multiple are injured after a shooting inside an illegal gambling location in NY on Saturday. They were said to be between the ages of 32 and 49.

Police say the shooting took place at 74 Utica Avenue, in the Weeksville neighborhood of Brooklyn.

According to Shea, evidence of gambling, including card playing, and two firearms were found at the scene. The shooting happened in the Brooklyn borough of the city and at least three others were severely injured, NBC and other news outlets reported.

As of now, two people have been brought in for questioning as part of the early stages of the investigation.

The six men and one woman were shot just before 7 a.m. inside a building in the Crown Heights neighbourhood of Brooklyn.

Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said four men were dead at the scene and the others were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police say the information is preliminary.

Investigators say there is nothing to indicate that this shooting was gang related. The gambling operation was unlicensed, but police had not previously received any complaints about the location, authorities said.

No one has been arrested over the shooting, which took place in Brooklyn, and the motive and exact circumstances are not known, a NY police official told AFP.
