Paul Pogba could be set for long future at Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, 28, is close to agreeing a new contract which will be worth close to the £290,000-a-week basic earned by Red Devils team-mate Pogba, according to The Guardian.

But both players, however, stayed put at their respective clubs after the transfer window.

"I know he's spoken with a few players, but not [Sergio] Ramos", said Mathias Pogba.

"I have had the chance to win nearly every title with my team and I do not stop dreaming and being enthusiastic. I would love to lift my fifth Champions League title, that would be insane, but also win the Euro's or the World Cup with the national team, that would be special", he commented.

The newspaper reports that the Los Blancos chief also stated that Real Madrid had never invested so much in players like last summer's transfer window even though they already had a great squad.

Manchester United spent in the region of £89 million to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford from Juve in 2016. "Oh, [Raphael] Varane, yes, and yes, with [Zinedine] Zidane, yes".

Doubts over Bale's future came after Zidane returned for a second spell in charge of Madrid towards the latter stages of the 2018-19 campaign. "I think this will be a good year and we have to do things right from the beginning".

While Real are still hoping to sign Pogba from United, hopes of a deal have suffered a blow in recent times.
