Nightdive Studios are the developer now working on System Shock: Remastered - the complete remake of the first game - and are the owners of the System Shock licence, but they're also known for remastering and re-releasing other classic games too.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of System Shock 2, Nightdive Studios, has announced that they will start work on an enhanced edition of the game. While System Shock: Enhanced Edition had a laundry list of updates, none of those really apply to System Shock 2 - other than perhaps updated resolutions and official mod support.
In an announcement on Twitter, the developer said: "You asked for it and we are working on it".

Along with the remake of System Shock, fans of the series can look forward to an Enhanced Edition of System Shock 2. Now, the Washington based development team has set its sights on the second in the System Shock franchise.
Released back in 1999, System Shock 2 had you board a starship overrun with a genetic infection, and try to take back control of the ship.
System Shock 2 was an incredibly important game for the game industry so it's excellent to see it being given some love.
While System Shock 2 is being remastered, both it and the original System Shock can still be picked up over on GOG.com for $9.99 each (roughly Rs. 712).
