Barcelona sign 16 year-old Barry from WBA

The striker has joined the Catalan giants on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee which is thought to be around the £235,000 mark in compensation due to Barry's age and with Barcelona being an overseas club.

Barcelona have beaten Paris St-Germain to the signing from West Bromwich Albion of one of England's brightest talents in the 16-year-old striker Louie Barry.

The youngster turned down the offer of a professional contract with West Brom to continue his football education with the famous Spanish side. "Next season he will be part of Barca's Under-19 squad", Barcelona said in a statement on Thursday.

"Louie Barry is an worldwide with the English Under-16 team, for whom he has played nine games and scored seven goals", read the official statement released by Barcelona.
