Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny refuses to join preseason tour, club says

Arsenal Skipper Laurent Koscielny has refused to regroup with his teammates for the United States Pre-Season tour.

In total, the France worldwide has made 255 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League, scoring 22 goals since joining from French side Lorient for £10m in July 2010.

Is Koscielny trying to force an exit from Arsenal?

This is what Arsenal said in an official statement on the club website. If a right offer is placed on the table, Unai Emery will happily cash in on him albeit losing him for nothing while battling out with financial difficulties.

Ligue 1 sides Lyon and Bordeaux have been linked with the 33-year-old former France worldwide, as have Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

Should Koscielny leave the Emirates before the transfer window closes, he'll depart with two FA Cups and a Europa League final runners-up medal to his name.

The English Premier League club released a statement saying it was "very disappointed by Laurent's actions, which are against our clear instructions". "We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time".

They are closing in on the capture of Saint-Etienne's 18-year-old defender William Saliba but that deal is expected to see the teenager return to the Ligue 1 side on loan for the next season.

In all, Koscielny has made 353 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 27 goals.
