The next Legend of Zelda is in development

At E3 2019, Nintendo announced both a sequel to 2017's Zelda: Breath of the Wild and an update of 1993's Link's Awakening for the Switch!

The new game was revealed via the company's E3 Direct presentation, Kotaku reports.

The teaser concludes with a message that the game is in development, but a specific release date wasn't given.

The teaser trailer for the sequel revealed Link and Zelda exploring dark dungeons, terrifying villains, and a glimpse of Hyrule. The preview explicitly called it the sequel to Breath of the Wild. This is going to be an epic game for sure.

However, it also said its highly anticipated Animal Crossing game had been delayed until March 2020.

In a Nintendo Direct broadcast today, the Japanese video game giant laid out the lineup for its Switch console for the rest of 2019 and early 2020.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting two new characters: Dragon Quest's The Hero and Banjo-Kazooie.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.

Demon x Machina for the Switch will be released for the Switch on September 13, 2019.

The Legend of Zelda made three appearances, first in the form of a remake. As you can see, the game will maintain the original's cartoonish vibe-a stark contrast to Breath of the Wild's lifelike aura-but with Switch-appropriate graphics.
