Mega Millions Jackpot Surpasses Half A Billion Dollars For Friday Drawing

It's now up to $530 million, the seventh largest jackpot in the game's history and it's only expected to rise.

The Mega Millions jackpot is up to $530 million for Friday night's drawing.

This is the seventh largest jackpot in Mega Millions history, and the game's largest since October when a ticket sold in SC won a record-setting $1.537 billion. It's also the first Mega Millions jackpot of the year to jump above the half-billion dollar mark.

The numbers were 17, 19, 27, 40 and 68.

The Mega Millions jackpot hasn't been hit since March 12, when Hira Singh of Shawnee, Kansas, won the $50 million top prize with a ticket he bought at a QuikTrip in Kansas City, Missouri.

That means the jackpot on Tuesday, June 11 will be worth $40 million with a cash option of $26 million.

In New Jersey, three $10,000 third-prize tickets were sold.

Winners must match all five numbers plus the Mega Ball to take home the big prize. That jackpot came in at $1.5 billion.

The Mega Millions lottery has players in 44 states, the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands.

There were two other tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Mega number.
