FORMER Leeds United transfer target Daniel james is set to be unveiled as the first signing of the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era at Manchester United next week.

Former Man United winger Ryan Giggs is now managing the Wales national side and he has seen Daniel James from very close quarters during the two games the youngster has played for the Welsh national side.

James, 21, has already undergone a medical and the move will be completed once the transfer window opens next week.

However, the player is yet to sign the offer as according to football journalist Simon Stone, the winger can only sign after global transfer window opens.

"He played for Swansea in a very attacking team".

James, who had just 12 months left on his contract, scored five goals in 37 games for Swansea last season as the Welsh side finished 10th in the Championship.

"I find it a surprising move". I believe one of the clubs in the Premier League who were looking to sign Daniel James was Brighton.

James emerged on the club's radar as part of a redirection of transfer strategy towards signing younger talents who can evolve at Old Trafford, rather than the ready-made talents which Jose Mourinho habitually signed.

"But guess what? Manchester United don't need guys for the future right now".

"It probably tells you that Manchester United are confident, or more confident, that they can get Sanchez out of the squad".
