New Inter Milan boss Conte keen on move for Lukaku

Perisic has been a target for United for the past two summers but it was very much Jose Mourinho who wanted him, with the former United boss wanting to offload Anthony Martial for the Croatian, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no interest in the 30 year old.

Perisic was instrumental in Croatia's impressive 2018 World Cup campaign - where he scored in the semi-finals against England and one in the final during his country's 4-2 loss to eventual champions France.

Antonio Conte is expected to make a move for Romelu Lukaku as soon as he appointed as Inter Milan's new manager. United, who signed Lukaku for around £90m, want closer to £70m to let him leave.

Speaking on Sky Italia's Lords of Football, Lukaku said: "Playing in Serie A is a dream, it would be really a dream. I am still under contract".

Lukaku became somewhat of a peripheral figure under new United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the second-half of this season with the Belgian global starting just 22 games (15 under Solskjaer) in the last campaign, compared to 33 games last season and 36 games in his final season with Everton.

Lukaku left Goodison Park for £75m after netting 20 times in three consecutive seasons at the Merseyside.

The future of the Belgian football star at Manchester United is now uncertain at Old Trafford after the club failed to qualify for next season's Champions League. However, considering the importance of Skriniar in Inter Milan, the Italian club might withdraw from the negotiations.
