More rain and storm chances to finish off Memorial Day weekend

Highs in the 80s are forecast for Friday, Sunday and Monday.

Weather that is more reminiscent of a Houston summer will dominate the Memorial Day weekend forecast.

The Weather Service said the ridge isn't going anywhere for a while.

"Expect showers to become more widespread during the day today, and also likely heavier than most of those experienced yesterday", the weather service said.

The Memorial Day Weekend is not a complete washout but you should plan for rain or at least a delay with your outdoor plans.

On Memorial Day, Atlanta is expected to reach 98 degrees, which also would mark an all-time May record.

The end of the work week features seasonable temperatures and a chance for a couple of showers Thursday morning and again late Thursday into early Friday.

A chance for showers and spotty storms will exist across the western Pennsylvania region from 12 p.m.to about 10 p.m.

A frontal system passing offshore should move along quickly enough to give us a nice day. The warmest Memorial Day happened previous year when temperatures reached 95 degrees, according to the weather service. A cold front has been slowly making it's way through the area this afternoon, but has had little impact on our temperatures.

Saturday night - Low around 75.

For Payson, expect highs in the low 70s until Monday, when the forecast calls for 64 degrees. Highs in the high country will be in the 40s to low 50s.

A warm afternoon across the area as temperatures warm into the upper 70s to around 80.

Tomorrow, we start off under mostly cloudy skies, with a few showers to the south.
