Justin Thomas withdraws from PGA Championship with wrist injury

It's painful as hell is all I can say. A win at the PGA Championship would give him his second straight major win and his 16th overall. "Got a couple more days of work to get in and I'll be ready to go".

But the course and driving range were all but deserted by mid-afternoon on an unusually quiet start to a championship that is beginning a new era after being played for almost half a century in August.

"He seems to be in a great place and I think he feeds off of the support of the crowds and the sponsors and he seems very happy in his life", he added. He's a different person.

Lacking the mystique of the Masters, brutality of the US Open or quirkiness of the Open Championship, the USPGA has been regarded as golf's most bland and faceless major championship. "So it's a much later date for the picks".

"He got his [injury] fixed for some reason". "Nobody has an excuse not to turn up at the BMW Championship in the UK".

"You are not going to see a dominating person with that much influence on the game".

To Harrington, nothing compares with representing the continent in what has become the most intense event in golf.

"That's how he wins at Firestone six times, he wins Bay Hill six times". "It is a huge deal to play in the Ryder Cup team in terms of people's careers". He was a runner-up at the Masters and already has two victories this year. "Like it really did make him as a golfer".

Daly has won five events on the PGA Tour - including the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 British Open.

Woods however, was not impressed.

"As far as J.D. taking a cart, well, I walked with a broken leg", Woods said.

Woods is referring to the famous incident in 2008 when he won the U.S. Open with stress fractures to his tibia, and only two days before ACL surgery.

Its chief championships officer Kerry Haigh said a committee "agreed that it justified the use of a golf cart".

"If you just hang around - I think one of the big things that I've learned over the last few years is you don't need to win it, you don't have to try to go win it". They're always on tough golf courses, and you've got to put four good rounds together.

The facts are, Daly has arthritis in his right knee and said he can not walk much downhill.

Woods, 43, last skipped tournaments between major championships in 2013, when he had an elbow injury following the U.S. Open, then tied for sixth at The Open.

J.T. Poston will take Singh's spot in the tournament beginning Thursday.

Thomas was replaced by fellow American Kelly Kraft. Last week, Davis Love III (Winged Foot in 1997) withdrew.
