Jurgen Klopp slams those questioning Liverpool’s 30-year English league title drought

Despite falling short, Cox said there would be no sense of negativity around Jurgen Klopp's squad ahead of their clash with Tottenham in Madrid on June 1.

"If we're ready to make the next step we'll make that next step".

"It's incredible what they did all season and today with a unusual situation". At that moment (when Liverpool fans celebrated Brighton's goal) it was a shock for everyone and Wolves were there. We had to fight. Virg won an award, I didn't know before but I saw him carrying a boot; Trent smashed all stats for assists for full-backs and Robbo was close and almost scored today; we have two of the top goalscorers, right? Our target during the week was to get 97 points, we got that - that's special. We are a tight group and we don't want to lose anyone.

Klopp said: "We have qualified for the Champions League final". But under his tutelage he grew into one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe, leading to Arsenal shelling out £56 million for him last January. The boys were all there from last season apart from Alisson.

Pep Guardiola´s City are firm favourites to retain the title as they travel to Brighton, a team that narrowly avoided relegation. But, inside 83 seconds, Sergio Aguero levelled for City to return things to how they were.

"The season is a very long, hard one". We were always competitive.

To underline the two clubs´ dominance, third-placed Chelsea only have 71 points going into their final game against Leicester City.

"It's not easy but we've made a big step".

"We only lost one game all season", Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah said. "We had a great season", Salah told beIN SPORTS.

"It is the first try". If we do those same steps again that will be a season.

"I wouldn't have felt the same if we'd lost but I just wanted us to deal with this situation for our own future". But I'm fine with the performance, not that it's really important to judge it today.

Stan Collymore believes that Ruben Neves will be tempted by a summer move to Liverpool.

Despite the disappointment, it's still been a hugely successful season. "But give me a few hours to get over what happened today".

It's not a wonderful moment, it's not exactly like that, but we have enough time to find out, to see exactly, and feel maybe how brilliant the season was. This team tried it for the first time and I really think they did quite impressively to try the first time.

"There's a reason that, at the end of the game when we go around the Anfield pitch to say thank you to the supporters, that we bring our families with us".

But the Reds will be full of belief after routing Barcelona 4-0 this week to reach the final of the Champions League, overturning a three-goal first-leg deficit to book an all-English clash with Tottenham.

"I am very proud of this team, it's a very special team and I am very proud to be part of it", he explained.

"There's a lot to come, a lot of years, it's all about you and what you do with it, and that's what we do with it".

"City have been outstanding but so are we".

"We saw in the Champions League in the last week why this game is incredible".

"Liverpool won all their games and still finished one point behind".
