Ghost Recon Breakpoint boasts 11 unique biomes across a remote archipelago in the South Pacific that's home to a mysterious Silicon Valley startup called Skell Technology. Auroa is Skell's base, but with the island going dark, the Ghosts are sent in. The game's central antagonist will be Wildlands' Cole D. Walker, portrayed by The Punisher's Jon Bernthal, who's betrayed his team and gone off the grid.

Ghost Recond Breakpoint features a brand new story with branching storylines and dialogue choices, and the game is entirely playable in both solo and co-op. Locations that range from jungles through deserts, fjords, forests and even a volcano provide tactical opportunities while at the same time proving treacherous. "Depending on severity, injury may seriously impact combat readiness and require medical attention before proceeding". Breakpoint will also feature an array of customisation options, while your character and progression will be persistent across the campaign and PvP, which will be available in the game at launch. "The endgame is being further boosted by the arrival of four-player Raids which, judging by the announcement trailer, carry that essential air of intrigue and fear of the unknown that this well-worn concept is known for".

"You are no longer the hunter", says Ubisoft. While Ubisoft didn't provide details about the new classes, it said players can swap between them freely and it will add more of them post-launch. It launches on October 4 although you can start playing a few days early on October 1 with a gold or higher pre-order.
