Baynes's Boston bucked out of National Basketball Association playoffs

After sweeping Detroit in the first round, top-seeded Milwaukee struggled in Game 1 against Boston and lost 112-90 in one of its worst offensive performances of the season. When faced with adversity the Celtics became a team of individuals that lacked genuine effort or trust for teammates.

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Boston Celtics at Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 39 points to lead Milwaukee to the win and Kyrie Irving scored 23 points in the loss for Boston.

"They played like they wanted it", Irving said.

The Celtics, on the other hand, will go home for the summer wondering what happened to a team that was supposed to be among the NBA's best, but instead could barely muster home court in the first round and was drummed out by a far superior Bucks team a round earlier than they went home last season. It's but one more storyline to watch in what is going to be a fascinating Celtics summer.

":He's a tough cover because you have to get from helping on Giannis into his air space, and guard the drive", Brad Stevens recently said.

"I think [dealing with expectations] was the challenge for our group all year, and we really tried our best", Horford said. Irving shot 7-of-22 in Game 4 and said of that "I should have shot 30".

Tonight's clinching Game 5, in which the hometown Bucks trailed for literally 10 seconds, simply said it all- Milwaukee spread the love and had seven players score in double figures, while the hapless Celtics were an absolute mess, shooting a awful, teeth-gnashing 31% from the floor with their season in the balance. Khris Middleton had 19 points and 8 rebounds for the game, Eric Bledsoe had 18 points, and George Hill had another impressive night off the bench with 16 points.

The Boston Celtics have no room left for error.

Rozier continued by alluding to the fact that he might not come back to Boston next season as he is clearly upset with how the year went.
