Director J.J. Abrams, speaking alongside a handful of cast members, said the movie takes place some time after the events of the 2017 film The Last Jedi. "But this is your fight", says Luke Skywalker's voice as he prepares Rey and the viewers for the battle of ages.

Which brings us to that terrifying laugh right at the every end. It is entirely possible that it is just the same model as her parents, but there have been talks of J.J. Abrams retconning what Rian Johnson did with Rey's parents in The Last Jedi. "The idea of having a CG character wasn't even an option". The film will hit theaters on December 20. "Princess Leia lives in this film in a way that's kind of mind-blowing to me". Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) is back too, as is Lando Calrissian, played by Billy Dee Williams, who was last seen in Return of the Jedi (1983).

Some might say he's a Force ghost, but I have my doubts about that possibility.

Instead, the next few Star Wars projects will be on TV, specifically new streaming service Disney+, which will have multiple Star Wars shows, including the live-action The Mandalorian.

"This movie is about this new generation, what they've inherited, the light and the dark, and are they ready?" he said. "As they face this greatest evil, are they prepared?" Or perhaps it could suggest a promising new arc for our trilogy villain, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). The son of Han Solo and Leia Organa has walked the most tragic path to villainy - all by his own choosing. For the answer, we will have to wait for the release of the film.

"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine".

ILMxLab had the misfortune of following up the panel for The Rise of Skywalker, but managed to knock it out of the park as well. Today, the company revealed the full title for Episode 9, which will wrap up the Skywalker Saga more than 40 years after it first started with A New Hope. CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Lucasfilm will take a break from new Star Wars movies after Star Wars: Episode IX.

The highlight of the presentation, though, was the much anticipated release of the first trailer for The Rise of Skywalker.

As part of the promotion, United is giving away two tickets to the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
