Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye Will Get His Own Disney+ Series

Disney+ is developing a series starring Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an individual with knowledge with the project tells TheWrap. It will be an adventure series based on Clint Barton and how he passes the torch to daughter, Kate Bishop.

Disney and Marvel declined to comment. Following his role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, I really liked his role as the cantankerous uncle to Scarlet Witch in Captain America: Civil War worked well, and I can't wait to see how his character continues to grow in Avengers: Endgame. Fans of Young Avengers and Matt Fraction's Hawkeye, your prayers were heard and the best marksman in the Marvel universe is bringing her trademark deadpan to a streaming service near you.

Are you all as excited as we are about the prospect of a Hawkeye series with Clint Barton and Kate Bishop?

Disney is hoping high-profile series and films featuring some of its biggest properties will be enough to compete with Netflix when their streaming service, Disney+, launches later this year. There hasn't been a casting announcement for Bishop, but there's plenty of unconfirmed theorizing that she'll appear in Avengers: Endgame (along with fellow Young Avengers staple, Cassie Lang). The series, which are all expected to run between six to eight episodes, will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige.

Renner has been a part of the MCU since he first appeared as Hawkeye in an uncredited cameo in "Thor".
