The CW's Supernatural Will End After Season 15


Series stars Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) took to Twitter on Friday afternoon posting a video with Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) and Misha Collins (Castiel) where the revealed the show is coming to an end.

Two months after The CW renewed its long-running hit Supernatural for a 15th Season, it has been confirmed that it will be the last season.

Series stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins made the news official in an emotional video posted to their social media accounts on Friday afternoon, where they expressed their gratitude to the fans who have stuck by Supernatural for almost two decades.

"We just told the crew that though we're very, very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last", Ackles said in the below video. Ackles and Padalecki play the Winchester brothers, a duo who traveled across the country and hunted down supernatural creatures like demons along the way. The 15th and final season will roll out this fall.

'We've cried some tears, and we'll cry some more, ' Padalecki added, before Ackles continued, 'but we're gonna save the emotion for next season'. For us it has been an experience of a lifetime.

Executive producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb promised that the Supernatural legacy will end with a send-off that the beloved characters all deserve. The series premiered in 2005, back when The CW was still The WB and when genre television was less prominent.

Supernatural airs Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8/7c on The CW. Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins announced that the sci-fi/fantasy drama will finish its run next year.
