Texas Donut Shop Filled With Customers After Sad Tweet Goes Viral

A man's viral tweet about his dad's newly-opened donut shop has become a prime example of the positive power of social media.

"My dad is sad cause no one is coming to his new donut shop", By wrote, sharing a photo of his dad behind the counter of his new shop.

According to By he was anxious about his father not attracting customers and didn't think the tweet would go viral.

Billy By's father opened a new shop, Billy's Donuts, in the Texas town over the weekend.

Needless to say, his dad isn't sad anymore.

In a sickeningly sweet and heartwarming twist of fate, the tweet went viral and Twitter, for a few moments at least, banded together to spread the good word about this mom-and-pop operation in need of help.

People in the area or those planning to travel to Texas can stop by Billy's Donuts at 7022 Highway 6, Suite 800, Missouri City.

"Just wanted to update y'all!"

Later that day, the store had completely sold out of donuts and kolaches.

In his follow-up tweet, he revealed that the store was completely sold out of doughnuts and kolaches. The tweet even got the attention of the local media, with Fox 26 in Houston swinging by to try out the pastry and interview the owner's son Billy By.

Billy also said that Twitter bought out the entire shop for customers on Monday. The shop has now a steady flow of business coming in and Billy's father is very happy. "You are all wonderful", By tweeted, along with a photo of his no-longer-sad father. "This means so much to my family", he added.
