Roseanne Barr accuses co-star Sara Gilbert of 'destroying her life'

"[Gilbert] destroyed the show and my life with that tweet", said Barr, referencing a message Gilbert posted to Twitter in May 2018, condemning the comedian.

After the tweet, Gilbert, 44, publicly denounced her costar.

When Barr was sacked from the Roseanne reboot in May 2018 after she likened former White House advisor Valerie Jarrett to Planet of the Apes and the "Muslim brotherhood", Gilbert said the comments were "abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show". "I chose to believe her". "Going, 'You're one tweet away from us canceling the show'".

"She will never get enough until she consumes my liver with a fine Chianti", she added, a reference to the "Silence of the Lambs" character Hannibal Lecter. She then compared Gilbert to Hannibal Lecter.

"I did not want the last note of the series to be such a sour one", Werner tells the Post. She also claims that Werner promised her that he would publicly state she is not a racist. Despite the controversy that led to its creation, "The Conners" was a solid performer for ABC in its freshman season, averaging 9.5 million viewers and coming in as the season's No. 1 new comedy.

An episode count for the second season has yet to be officially set, though it is expected to be close to the 11-episode order of the first season.

The list of "The Conners" cast members confirmed to return in Season 2 include Goodman, Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, who also serves as an executive producer, Goranson as well as Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy.

After Barr's tweet about Jarrett, ABC swiftly pulled the plug on Roseanne. After the tweet had made the rounds and many were calling Roseanne racist online and pressuring ABC, the network held an emergency call with Barr, Werner, and Disney/ABC Television Group President Ben Sherwood, who questioned why Barr tweeted what she did.

"Shmuley saved my life", Barr said. Now that The Conners is coming back for a second season, the amusing lady is even more on edge.

Barr credits "America's Rabbi" Shmuley Boteach for checking in on her after the show's cancellation, when she was, according to the Post, "holed up in her mom's basement in Utah, chain-smoking and in tears".

Roseanne Barr apparently does not like Sara Gilbert anymore.
