Back in October 2018, the Canadian division of Walmart said that it was exploring the idea of selling cannabis-based products on their shelves, sending shares of Walmart Inc. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has already warned the makers and sellers of CBD products to steer clear of making overt health claims.
"Marijuana has been used to relieve pain, digestive and psychological disorders for more than 3,000 years-but the efficacy, safety and legality of the drug are still widely debated", Walgreens said on a corporate blog post about medical cannabis.
"We have partnered with CBD product manufacturers that are complying with applicable laws and that meet CVS's high standards for quality", a spokesman said in an email to MarketWatch.
