Mixed bag of weather results in special weather statement for region

There was an unusual sight at the world-famous Pike Place Market in Seattle Saturday morning: about 4 inches of snow on the ground already.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather warning statement for the Halton Region.

If the snow doesn't turn into ice pellets and freezing rain, however, total snowfall amounts could be higher.

A low pressure system brewing in the USA may intensify into a winter storm as it tracks over Southern Ontario Tuesday. There is a low chance for snow, but some sleet and freezing rain may occur.

Then comes the more significant storm on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

In the wake of cold air and a low-pressure system, the London-area will see snow return Tuesday night.

Cloudy weather will keep Sunday morning temperatures above freezing: expect lows in the upper 30s to low 40s. It's way too soon to know if there will or won't be a severe weather threat involved, but this system (like the one on Tuesday morning) has enough markings to raise some suspicions for the end of the week. Though it's warmer than late January weather, wind chill temperatures could drop to -14 C, warns Alsen.

Considering the city's last snowstorm had colleges and universities shutting down, flights cancelled, and people literally skiing through downtown streets, you should probably prepare for your life to be slightly delayed, interrupted, or completely inconvenienced between Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
