Mavericks waive Zach Randolph after trade with Kings

The Dallas Mavericks traded Harrison Barnes to the Sacramento Kings in the middle of their game against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night, but it appears Barnes was aware of that possibility beforehand.

In what is quickly becoming a trade deadline of insanity, the Sacramento Kings have finally traded for the big wing they've coveted for months. I'm OK with both honestly. If it weren't for insiders and social media, Barnes merely would have played the game then been informed when it was finished.

By trading him, the Mavs have opened up some much needed salary cap space ahead of next summer, when they are projected to have $30 million available.
