Body found in Connecticut ID'ed as Westchester woman

Police said Reyes' hands and feet were bound inside the suitcase. Reyes broke up with her girlfriend days before she went missing, her mother told ABC.

New York City police on January 31 asked the public for help in finding Valerie Reyes, and said in a Twitter post that she was last seen wearing a green coat, black jeans and black shoes. "I'm paranoid, mommy. I'm getting anxiety attacks.' She was having a hard time talking".

Her mother tried to calm her down and extract more information.

But she didn't get the answers she was looking for.

Friends and family light candles for Valerie Reyes. "And just think about her last minutes, her last breaths", she said. She was discovered by an unidentified highway worker in Greenwich.

Reyes was passionate about art and enjoyed drawing and painting, according to Lauren Bradford, who said she worked with Reyes at Barnes & Noble for about 10 months before Bradford left the job to go to college a few months ago.

"I asked her, 'Why do you feel this way?"

"I open up at 6 o'clock in the morning, by 8 o'clock, I see cop cars going by".

Brenda DeGiacomo, who lived across the street from Reyes, described her neighbor as a "sweetheart".

"We don't even understand", Norma said.

Reyes was fully clothed when she was found.

Reyes' cause of death has not been confirmed, Berry said.

Friends and co-workers of a NY woman who was found dead in a suitcase in CT say she was a bookstore worker who was passionate about art and aspired to be a tattoo artist.

Several items were missing from Reyes' apartment, police said.

Reyes took her iPhone, iPad, clothes and bedsheets before vanishing, reported.

"There was no doubt homicide was involved", Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry said at a press conference, according to the Greenwich Time.

Among them was a man who identified himself as Valerie's boyfriend. On Jan. 31, the NYPD had tweeted her missing person poster. "Please contact me if there is ANY kind of information".

Reyes' family hired a private investigator the day after she went missing, according to the Westchester Journal. Her bank card was also used later that morning at another ATM, but there was no surveillance footage of the second withdrawal.

Greenwich sits along the New York-Connecticut state border. They found her in the luggage.

Sanchez said she started to "panic" when the 24-year-old vanished.

The hunt for her killer carries on.
