Samsung Galaxy M-series to launch in India on January 28


So expect their specifications and features comparable to phones from the likes of Xiaomi, Honor, Realme, etc. However, Samsung in its press release noted that the Galaxy M series smartphones will come with "powerful display, powerful camera, powerful battery and a powerful processor helping the smartphones deliver power-packed performance".

For months, there have been rumours of Samsung planning to phase out Galaxy J mobile portfolio with the new Galaxy M series and now we a have official confirmation from the company itself.

This new smartphone is targeted for the "millennials", and the young users.

Samsung's new M-series of smartphones will be targeted at "millennials" that are flocking to ecommerce platforms to buy smartphones, a customer segment that has played a major role in helping Xiaomi outpace its rival over the previous year or so. "Inspired by millennials and designed in India, Galaxy M will empower the millennials like never before".

According to a press note issued by the company, the phones are expected to be announced January 28.

After playing second fiddle to Chinese rival Xiaomi in India's burgeoning smartphone market in 2018, Samsung is set to fight back with a new line of budget-friendly handsets. As the company has said it is partnering with Amazon to sell this new series in India.

As per earlier reports, Samsung-M series can be priced as low as Rs 9500 for the base variant.

It seems that Samsung now wants to aggressively target the sub-Rs 10,000 category. This will be known as the Infinity-V display as revealed during Samsung's developer conference.

Samsung M30 can be in the range of Rs 20,000, taking on Poco F1 from Xiaomi.

While M20 is expected to have 5,000mAh battery, which will Samsung's first ever tryst in India.

While the firm has yet to spill the beans on the possible spec of the smartphones under the new series, a number of leaks have however given away details specs and renders of the device especially the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20. Samsung M10 is expected to have 3500 mAh battery.
