Honor View 20 global launch today; check out price, specifications

The USP of the smartphone is its no notch design and it comes with a punch-hole camera instead.

Honor View 20 was launched in Paris, France on Tuesday - with the Huawei sub-brand detailing its price for the European Union and United Kingdom regions.

As mentioned, the Honor View 20 will have an India launch on January 29, and the phone is now up for pre-booking on the HiHonor store and has been listed on Amazon India as well.

Huawei's sub-brand Honor launched its Honor View 20 smartphone in China last month and its global variant will be launched today.

Honor View20 comes with three industry-first features such as the hole-punch display design, a 48-megapixel rear camera and link turbo, which will be available only in select markets. The company also announced an exclusive Honor Guard Fortnite Outfit that will be exclusive to Honor View 20 owners. Meanwhile, the next 800 customers will walk away with an Honor Band 4 and a backpack.

The Honor Watch Magic price is set at €179 (around £155) and will be available to buy from January 23 in a number of countries including the UK. As pointed out this is a unique display with a hole in the front for the camera, which is placed on the top left corner. The smartphone sports a bezel-less display design from all other sides up front.

'The advantages of this style of front-facing camera are obvious - by doing away with the in-vogue notch, Honor has created an even more expansive screen experience for on-the-go Netflix bingers, ' Mr Bhikha said. It will be shipped with Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9 on top. Honor View 20 has an LCD display with a full HD+ resolution of 2310 x 1080. The smartphone is powered by the 7nm octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC (2 Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.6GHz + 2 Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 1.92GHz + 4 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz ) paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM options. It will be available in 128GB and 256GB inbuilt storage options, without a microSD card slot for expansion.

Along with the Honor View 20, the company also launched the Honor View 20 Moschino Edition.

For taking pictures, it features a 48MP main camera with AI assistance and it has a secondary 3D ToF camera for augmented reality and "Kinect-like" experiences. With a 4,000mAh battery and up to 8GB RAM, the View20 should be able to handle long gaming sessions with a lot of multi-tasking. The 48-megapixel rear camera comes with a Sony IMX586 sensor and an f/1.8 aperture.
