It's finally official. Jake Gyllenhaal will be donning the giant glass dome to play the big bad in the next Spider-Man solo movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Rumours were rife that he would don the role of a villain in the movie and now, Jake has confirmed that he will be bringing the comic book character of Mysterio to life in the movie.
In the clip Jake is reading a comic book title titled, The Return of the Man Called Mysterio after discovering something while reading he says: "Woah, what the f..." The post is accompanied by the caption: "I just realised I'm not playing Spider-Man".
Though this is Sony's third take on Spider-Man, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield having previously portrayed the webslinger in the Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man respectively, the current Spider-Man is the first to be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.More news: O2 network outage: Millions of customers hit by technical fault

Fans couldn't contain their excitement in the comments section. Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds added, "I just realized I'm not playing Spider-Man either".
Spider-Man: Far From Home sees Peter Parker embarking on a global adventure and has been described as grander in scale and funnier than Homecoming.
Before Far From Home, Spider-Man is expected to appear in the as-yet untitled Avengers 4, which will conclude the events of Infinity War. Tom accidentally revealed the title of the movie and fans went insane.
