Pahlaj Nihalani, former chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification, on Monday moved the Bombay High Court against the board for suggesting around 20 cuts in his movie Rangeela Raja, ANI reported. Nihalani ended his argument saying that the cuts suggested by the censor board flouts the CBFC guidelines. The move has triggered hilarious reactions as netizens are calling it "Karma".
Nihalani, on the other hand, was succeeded by Prasoon Joshi as the new CBFC chief in 2017. "The cuts suggested for my film violate CBFC guidelines", Pahlaj Nihalani told ANI. When I was the chairperson (at the CBFC) I left a lot of people angry and upset with me. Nihalani states that normally, the CBFC screening committee would have taken 21 days to see the film but in his case, they took 40 days and passed an order on many cuts without hearing him out.
Govinda's film, "Rangeela Raja" also stars Shakti Kapoor, Digangana Suryavanshi, Mishika Chourasia, and Anupama Agnihotri. "Everybody knows about Prasoon Joshi's enduring friendship with Aamir Khan". "There is no vulgarity no double meaning dialogues". "Still I have been asked to delete a massive number of dialogues and scenes", he said.
In May this year, after team Rangeela Raja shot for a dance sequence, Pahlaj Nihalani told IANS, "The entire look, feel, appearance and rhythm of the song sequence is based on the Kingfisher calendars". All I can say at this point of time is that Govinda plays a man who is the biggest scamster of our times.More news: Girl, 10, charged with killing baby in day care

Nihalani said that Joshi is being a biased chairperson and that he will see the latter in court.
We tried to get in touch with Prasoon Joshi. But he can't bully me into cutting harmless scenes just because I was once in his chair and favouring no one. I was going to release my film on November 8. They have earlier worked together in films like "Ilzaam", "Shola Aur Shabnam" and "Aankhen". Nihalani has both directed and produced the film which according to him is inspired by the life of liquor baron Vijay Mallya.
Rangeela Raja was set to release on November 16, and there are 20 cuts that the CBFC has proposed for passing the film.
