Doria, 62, the only member of Meghan's family to attend her wedding to Prince Harry at Windsor Castle in May, has reportedly been asked along as a "mark of respect".

Now, with the former actress having no immediate family to share her new life with, her majesty has reportedly made a decision to invite her mom, Doria Ragland (62), to spend Christmas at her private country house in Sandringham, England, Daily Mail reports.

It looks like the Royal Family will be adding a seat to their Christmas table this holiday season.

"Doria's quiet dignity and grace at the Royal wedding has earned her enormous respect from Meghan's new in-laws", the source tells ET.

While Kate's familu have joined the royal for mass on Christmas morning, they have stayed at Anmer Hall. And according to the Sunday Express, the Queen has broken protocol again by inviting Doria to Christmas dinner this year.

As Harry shared in their November engagement interview, "I'd been seeing her for a period of time when I literally didn't tell anybody at all".

The source added: "Queen Elizabeth is very aware of all the problems Meghan has had with her dad and sister and she feels sorry for her that she doesn't have family and a support network close by".

"She's been wonderful", Meghan chimed in. "They speak on the phone pretty much every day and they are talking about Doria getting a place in the U.K.so that she can spend part of the year over here".

Meghan - who is thought to be around four months pregnant - wore the striking outfit during a walkabout in Rotorua on her last day in New Zealand with her husband.
