He along with Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, George Springer, Moises Alou, Carlos Lee, Morgan Ensberg, Mike Hampton, Glenn Davis, Jose Cruz, and Dickie Thon as the only players in club history to win a Silver Slugger.

Martinez, 31, became the first player in Major League Baseball history to win two Silver Slugger awards in the same season, taking the crown for both the outfield and designated hitter positions. He hit.265 with 22 homers and 78 RBI as he earned his second-career spot on the American League All-Star team. The Red Sox led the American League with three winners, matching the Colorado Rockies for the most in MLB. This is the fourth time the club has featured three winners in a single season, having also done so in 2005, 2011 and 2016.

Baez hit.290 with 34 homers, a National League-best 111 RBIs, 101 runs, 40 doubles, nine triples and an.881 OPS, setting career-best marks in each category. At least he is cleaning up elsewhere, winning the Hank Aaron Award last month as the AL's best offensive performer.

With Silver Sluggers in 2018 and 2016, Betts is now the seventh Red Sox player to win the award in multiple years, joining David Ortiz (7), Wade Boggs (6), Manny Ramirez (6), Xander Bogaerts (2), Dwight Evans (2), and Jim Rice (2).

Among AL second baseman, Altuve ranked first in batting average, OBP and slugging, while ranking second in hits and runs scored (84) and third in stolen bases.
