Dani Carvajal, who's worked under the likes of Carlo Ancelotti, Vicente del Bosque, Rafa Benítez, Zinedine Zidane and Luis Enrique has described former Real coach Julen Lopetegui as his "best coach".

The coach has endured a nightmare year after being sacked by Spain on the eve of the World Cup after agreeing to take the Real Madrid job.

Real sits atop the group with Roma, as both have six points, and the Spanish giants will look to continue its positive momentum under interim manager Santiago Solari.

Viktoria Plzen come into the match sitting in second place in the Czech First League on goal difference having most recently won 1-0 on the road on Saturday evening against Banik Ostrava.

"For me he is the best coach that I've had".

"I share his way of seeing football, his way of managing a group and his way of being with the players".

The Costa Rican has been named as a substitute against Viktoria Plzen, despite playing all of the previous Champions League games this season as a starter under Julen Lopetegui.

He added, "I said it before he arrived at Real Madrid, I'm still saying it now he´s gone, and I will keep saying it until I have a coach that's better than him".

The teenager netted the victor against Valladolid and added an assist in Wednesday's match, becoming just the second player born after the year 2000 to register an assist the Champions League behind Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.
