Ariana Grande Stumbles, Laughs While Performing ‘Thank U, Next’ on ‘Ellen’

Just days after releasing her brilliant new single break up anthem "thank u, next", Ariana Grande brought the song to The Ellen Degeneres Show for a studiously choreographed performance that nonetheless took on an air of whimsy after Grande almost tripped over one of her customarily giant heels.

With the help of her friends and backup singers, Victoria Monét and Tayla Park, Grande delivered a wedding-inspired, choreographed performance as the trio rocked all-white outfits.

Judging by social media posts earlier this week Grande did not respond well to Davidson's reference to their breakup during "SNL" promos (in one, he jokingly asked this week's musical guest, Maggie Rogers, to marry him), yet the song seems meant to clear the air. As she was stepping down in her white heeled boot, she stumbled, exclaiming, "Oh my god!"

"This one gon" last / "Cause her name is Ari / And I'm so good with that", she sang without missing a note, adding a self-deprecating chuckle.

Grande teased the upcoming performance on her Instagram, sharing behind-the-scenes photos and even a short clip. Holding hands with my mama. She finished the performance with a smile, and danced down the aisles of the set while the audience cheered.

It's no secret that Grande recently split from fiancé Pete Davidson.

"We were supposed to come down?" the singer asked.

"I thought we were supposed to exit", Grande says, apologizing for the mishap.
