MI got more than the quality win it had been seeking.
Since dropping its opening game on the road to Notre Dame, which improved to 7-0 on Saturday, Michigan has won six in a row.
MI may move up a little because four teams ranked higher lost.
MI ranked No. 120, out of 129 teams, entering the game with 52 penalties.
Wolverines defensive end Rashan Gary didn't play due to his injured right shoulder. Wisconsin has won five of the last eight meetings, including a 24-10 win previous year in Madison, Wisconsin though Michigan won 14-7 when they last met in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2016.
