Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Expecting First Baby

Now, there's no confirmation on whether this is true or not but it is commonplace to wait until the 12-week mark, the end of the first trimester, before sharing baby news with people.

Members of the royal family have stated they are "delighted" for the couple, but how exactly did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle break the news to their family?

Congratulations poured in for the thrilled couple, with Prime Minister Theresa May offering her "warmest congratulations" and the Archbishop of Canterbury, who married Harry and Meghan, saying: "Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on their happy news!"

They have just embarked on a royal tour, landing in Syndey earlier today and it's expected to last for just over two weeks.

The couple made the announcement on October 15, but they actually told the whole royal family at Princess Eugenie's wedding on October 15.

The couple have 76 engagements scheduled over 16 days in Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand. Markle is a big fan of classic tailored pieces, most recently evidenced by her maternity look at Princess Eugenie's wedding, to which she wore a Givenchy navy coat and dress.

Prince Harry, of course, is one of the founders of the competition for injured military personnel. Also given the fact that the baby is 7th in line for the throne, the likelyhood that the first child will ever be a king or queen is virutally non-existent.

But when a palace spokesman was asked if Meghan's father Thomas Markle had been told, the reply was "no comment", Mills said.
