Karolina Pliskova charged into the final of the Tianjin Open and further boosted her hopes of making the WTA Finals with an emphatic 6-2 6-1 triumph over Timea Bacsinszky on Saturday.

Frenchwoman Garcia defeated fifth seed Hsieh Su-wei 6-3 6-4 to secure her place in Sunday's final.

With momentum on her side, Garcia broke Pliskova's serve twice to claim her first WTA title since her back-to-back triumphs in Wuhan and Beijing past year.

In the final she will play Italian fifth seed Camila Giorgi, who was a 6-3 6-4 victor over Alison van Uytvanck. She saved a set point for Pliskova at 5-6 to go on to win the hour-long first set.

Singapore nerves seemed to affect Pliskova.

In the second set, Garcia stormed to a 5-0 lead and first served for the match at 5-1. More aggressive, Garcia hit on the rise and managed to apply an increasing pressure from the baseline.

Pliskova again held with an ace to lead 4-3 while Garcia countered once more with excellent striking from the forehand side to level the set at 4-4.

"It's very nice for me to win a title again, because the emotion and the feeling after the match point is something very special and very hard to describe", Garcia told reporters after the match.
