According to a MacRumor report on Monday, Kuo said that Apple is now expected to ship 36 to 38 million iPhone XR units in the fourth quarter of 2018, up 10 per cent from an original estimate of 33 to 35 million units. The iPhone XR debuted last month, alongside the iPhone XS and XS Max. Apple pushed iPhone XR pre-sales to October 19, with the phone hitting stores a week later on October 26, reportedly so that it could ramp up production on the 6.1-inch handset.

As part of that note, Kuo has suggested that Apple will follow a similar pattern in 2019 by releasing 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch devices with an embedded OLED display as well as an LCD-based device which sits in the middle with a 6.1-inch display. This is a privilege reserved for current iPhone customers who are on the iPhone Upgrade Program. "Also, XR's shipment QoQ decline in 1Q19 will be better than the iPhone 8 series' 45-50% in 1Q18". Apple's accepting pre-order approvals through 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Thursday (Oct. 18).
Interested buyers can head over to Flipkart, Amazon.in or Paytm Mall to pre-book the iPhone XR online on Friday.
Apple's cheapest iPhone - the colourful iPhone XR - will cost R15,999 for the 64GB version in South Africa, and will be available in stores on October 26, iStore South Africa revealed on Wednesday.
