An estimated 5.2 million people are within 125 kilometers (77 miles) of the projected path of the Super Typhoon, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

The two lifeless bodies of the two women in the Philippines were pulled from the soil of a hillside that collapsed after the storm's torrential rains, police said.
Officials said about 1,000 homes in the province had sustained damage.
Mangkhut's sustained winds weakened to 170 kilometres per hour with gusts of up to 260kph after it sliced across Luzon's flood-prone rice plains and mountain provinces toward the South China Sea, aiming at southern China and Hong Kong, where residents were bracing for the worst.

"Among all the typhoons this year, this one (Mangkhut) is the strongest", Japan Meteorological Agency forecaster Hiroshi Ishihara told AFP. Mangkhut is now a Cat 5 Typhoon packing winds of 285 kmph.
The storm is predicted to move on to China's heavily populated southern coast this weekend.
