Ravens loss to Bengals on TNF is completely embarrassing

That's his first career three-touchdown game, and he had it before 17 minutes had elapsed in the game.

The Ravens (1-0) opened this season with a 47-3 win over the Bills and turned their focus to that one play from last December that lingers in the back of their minds. They return to action at home against the Denver Broncos Sept. 23.

Down by 21 points, the Ravens made a run at it behind Joe Flacco, who threw a pair of touchdown passes. Green only caught five passes in the game, but he punished Baltimore down in the red zone, demonstrating why opposing defenses shouldn't match up with him one-on-one out of the slot; at first with a crossing route and then in the second quarter with an out route.

NFL Research noted too that: "Andy Dalton is the first player since Matt Ryan (Week 17, 2016 vs New Orleans Saints) to throw four touchdowns in the first half".

The Cincinnati Bengals won their season opener on the road against the Colts, winning it on a scoop and score near the end of the game. The defense allowed Dalton to go 9 of 14 for 121 yards while leading Cincinnati to a 21-0 lead, throwing TD passes to Green on three consecutive possessions. The Bengals answered with a score and on the next play, Baltimore turned it over on downs.

Again, Flacco tried to will Baltimore back into the game with this late drive, a 21-yard touchdown pass to John Brown. His absence is smaller than Dixon's, since the tight end group has looked strong with Maxx Williams, Nick Boyle, and Mark Andrews combining for nine catches and 103 yards.

"It was tough sledding early on, and we weren't very precise", Flacco said.

MISSING MOSLEY: Ravens middle linebacker C.J. Mosley left in the first quarter with a bruised knee.

"They fought and played hard, but they didn't play flawless", Harbaugh said.

Mixon, who admitted he would not have returned to the game if Cincinnati had a bigger lead, also drew the respect of his teammates for confronting Ravens cornerback Tavon Young for what he considered an unnecessary shot on Dalton.

Bullock made a 28-yard field goal with 2:59 left after Cincinnati drained 6:36 off the clock, increasing the lead to 31-23.

PASSING - Baltimore, Flacco 32-55-2-376. At that point, no one would have blamed the Ravens for wanting a second game against the Bills this season, not the Bengals.
