New Joker Movie Video Reveals Joaquin Phoenix's Clown Makeup

Our first look at the forthcoming Joker origin film earlier this week gave us a surprisingly bare-faced Joaquin Phoenix playing the iconic Batman villain.

The Joker director Todd Phillips has revealed how Joaquin Phoenix's character looks in makeup for the first time. The corners of Arthur's mouth suddenly turn up into a disturbing smile, and just as quickly, Phoenix is seen in full Joker makeup.

Whether this is how Fleck will look when he finally does become The Joker remains to be seen, but you can't help but feel that fans will ultimately be disappointed if that is the look they elect to go for since it seems so simplistic.

Warner Bros. Pictures posted a camera test from Phillips on Friday.

The movie, which also stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz and Frances Conroy, is set to be released October 4, 2019.

Alec Baldwin was allegedly going to play Bruce Wayne's father, however dropped out and revealed he was "no longer doing that movie" by tweeting he'd: "not been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips" JOKER as some Donald Trump manque. Phillips teamed up with Scott Silver (8 Mile) to write a script described as an "exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale". The film also stars Zazie Beetz, Robert DeNiro, Marc Maron, Frances Conroy, and Josh Pais.
