Given he's been the president of Liberia since January, George Weah therefore has the power to make pretty much anything happen in his country; his say is final.

The 1995 World Player of the Year said, "As a young footballer I was always fascinated by Nigerian football stars".

Collins missed Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles after failing a late fitness test but recovered to play in Tuesday's exhibition match against Liberia ‎which Nigeria won 2-1.

While the match was arranged in his honour, Weah stunned the crowd by leading out his side on Monrovia and the 51-year-old completed 79 minutes of the match.

In his playing days, the big striker featured for some of Europe's best teams - PSG, Monaco, AC Milan and Chelsea. I believe that in Africa, somewhere, there is another Ballon D'Or victor.

President Weah however described the Super Eagles of Nigeria as a model that he wants his country to model. "We have to find him, expose him to the world and give him the opportunity to actualise his dream".

Nigeria took the lead after 12 minutes when Henry Onyekuru found the top corner before Simeon Nwankwo doubled their advantage just after the half-hour mark with a header.

The lack of accurate of documentation means global footballers older than Weah may have played but the former AC Milan and PSG star becomes the oldest on record.
