Serena Williams, 23-time Grand Slam victor and runner-up at this year's controversial US Open, admitted she has been "relying" on the friendship of Meghan Markle in the aftermath of her recent defeat to Naomi Osaka. Meghan Markle abided by the traditional wedding adage to attract luck for her special day.

Meghan didn't tell Prince Harry, 34, about the awesome idea she had planned for the veil until he saw her wearing it as she walked down the aisle.

The veil that Meghan Markle wore on her wedding day to Prince Harry reportedly included a sweet detail recalling the first date she ever had with her new husband.

Meghan and Claire Waight Keller, the designer of her Givenchy gown, also collaborated to include embroidered flowers representing the 53 nations of the British Commonwealth into her wedding veil. The piece of blue fabric that's stitched inside?

"And I think the other members of the family had a similar reaction, and just appreciation for the fact that we understand how important this is for us and the role that we play".

"I hope people liked it as much as I liked helping to create it".

"It's fabric from the dress I wore on our first date", she added with a wide grin.

The fragment of fabric wasn't visible to the millions watching the wedding on May 19 2018 or even to the friends and family celebrating with the couple at their ceremony at St. George's Chapel, Windsor and then at their reception in the Great Hall of Windsor Castle afterwards.

Meghan makes her comments when she is reunited with her bridal outfit at Buckingham Palace as it is prepared for a new exhibition, and says: "It's nice to see it again. With the Duke and Duchess of Sussex about to embark on their first Commonwealth Tour to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific exactly sixty-five years after the Queen's first Commonwealth Tour, this series could not be more timely".

Queen of the World will premiere on September 25 at 9:15 p.m. on ITV in the U.K. and on October 1 at 9 p.m. on HBO in the United States.

In May, Meghan donned a handsome silk wedding dress crafted by British designer Clare Waight Keller.
