There is no Willian problem, says Chelsea boss Sarri

Thibaut Courtois remains a Chelsea player for the time being with coach Maurizio Sarri wanting to stave off Real Madrid's interest in the Belgian. I spoke yesterday with him about his lateness, not about his future.

However, the 29-year-old winger who has been at the centre of speculations about a potential exit all summer long, reported late and this made the manager unhappy.

When asked whether the whole situation was unusual, he added, "I think so".

"I don't know. At the moment Courtois is the goalkeeper of the club, of Chelsea", Sarri said.

The player has been linked with Barcelona, Manchester United and Real Madrid in the current transfer window and this might not make things better for him with the Blues though.

When asked if any of his World Cup stars would start on Sunday, Sarri continued, "I don't know". I'm very happy living in London'.

Willian returned to preseason training with Chelsea late after problems returning from Brazil.

Sarri said: "It was a very positive conversation". It depends on the club, ' said Sarri.

Courtois has won two Premier League titles, the League Cup and the FA Cup during his four seasons at Stamford Bridge. I want to see the last two training sessions.

Los Blancos only value Courtois at £35million, in line with their wider stance on goalkeepers. "At this point of the season it is important the performance, we have to improve up close".

The Blues take on Arsenal tomorrow in Dublin and just four days later they will face Manchester City in the Community Shield.
